Project Details

Hill PDA is currently preparing an Activity Centres Strategy for the City of Ballarat. The Strategy will be the key tool guiding development which will accommodate recent and forecast population growth. The Strategy must build on the Ballarat Interim Activity Centre Strategy (2010) and importantly will reinforce Ballarat's role as the Regional Centre of the Western Region of Victoria, whilst further identifying the individual and complementary roles for the other 15 Activity Centres.

The Strategy will provide Council with a range of mechanisms by which to facilitate better decision making regarding the allocation of services and infrastructure and where investments are required to create new business and employment opportunities.

In order to inform this Strategy, Hill PDA undertook a detailed community consultation process which included face-to-face and telephone shopper surveys, business surveys, and a series of Focus Group sessions. Hansen Partnership as sub-consutlants to Hill PDA are providing urban design support on the project.
