Project Details

Baulkham Hills Council commissioned Hill PDA to prepare an employment lands study for Baulkham Hills LGA. The study also provided guidance and direction for the formulation of the Employment Lands Direction for Baulkham Hills Shire.

The core objectives of the study were to:

  • quantify the scope of existing employment lands within the LGA;
  • quantify existing employment in the LGA by industry;
  • identify economic and employment trends that may influence employment provision in the LGA;
  • forecast employment growth by industry and the required site area / floorspace;
  • identify key issues to be addressed in planning and managing employment lands in the LGA; and
  • recommend employment activities to target and their associated needs.

The focus of this study was all employment lands, or lands zoned 4(b) Light Industry in the LGA and 10 (a) Business Park as well as land designated as 3(b) Business within town centres relating to commercial office uses. An accompanying report was prepared to focus on retail provided within Baulkham Hills Shire.

To accord with the scope of the North West Subregional Strategy, the Study had a 25 year time frame up to 2031
