Urban Land Use Planning - Global Best Practice

Published by Sydney University Press

HillPDA’s Leslie Stein, Senior Advisor – Governance and Policy, is soon to release his book on Comparative Urban Land Use Planning, Best Practice published by Sydney University Press.

In his book, Leslie took on the massive task of analysing and comparing the planning systems of 80 countries.

“By comparing the advantages and pitfalls of different urban planning approaches, and considering their underlying ideologies and assumptions, he proposes a more thoughtful and evidence-based approach. This book is both scholarly and emotional, expressing a great love of cities and calling for a more clear-eyed approach to their care.”

You might know Les for his book: Principles of Planning Law (Oxford UP) or his involvement as Chief Counsel for the Sydney Metropolitan Strategy.
